Meetings of Members
About
Meetings of Members happen biannually, typically at the NPDL Fall Tournament in October and NPDL Tournament of Champions in April. Meetings are open to all member schools, and are intended for discussing major issues in the parliamentary debate community. To become a member school, please register here by mid-March. Each member school may send up to two representatives—one adult representative and one student representative. They can vote on any tabled proposals as part of the NPDL Legislature.
For more information, see Article IV and Article XXV.
changing who holds your school’s vote
If an adult representative is unable to attend a meeting of members, another coach affiliated with their school may be designated to act as the substitute adult representative.
If none of the school’s coaches can attend the meeting of members, the adult representative may designate an adult representative of another school as their proxy.
If a student representative is unable to attend a meeting of members, another student from their school may be designated to act as the substitute student representative.
If none of the school’s students can attend the meeting of members, the student representative may designate a student representative of another school as their proxy.
Proxy/substitute designations must be emailed to npdl.board+secretary@gmail.com by a school representative (either adult or student) or the school supervisor (head coach, club adviser, or school administrator). The email notice must CC the school supervisor, the old representative being replaced, the substitute/proxy being designated, and the other representative of the school (if there is one).
